Urban Phoenix was developed as a means for creative artistic expression by commenting on, critiquing, and creating designs. Whether it may be via art, photography, fashion, events, or a mixture of all the above, digital design is forever evolving, and it is my objective to not only educate myself but also provide some digital insight and creative inspiration. We live in a cyberspaced digital world and twitter ourselves silly. I can only hope that Urban Pheonix will act as a demi-sparknotes for aspiring urban couture designers.
Why a phoenix?
The phoenix is a mythical fire bird that is a symbol for transformation. to an alchemist, the pheonix symbolizes the destruction and creation of new forms of matter along the way to the ultimate transformation - turning lead into gold.
According to the Feng Shui Handbook, by feng shui Master Lam Kam Chuen, the pheonix is a mythical bird that never dies...it represents our capcity for vision, for collecting sensory information about our enviornment and the events unfolding within it. The phoenix, with its great beauty, creates intense excitement and deathless inspiration.
In a design sense, the phoenix encompasses all the elements you need to have to be a great designer. If you can continually reinvent yourself, your design, and your style, it will not only allow you to maintain a vast knowledge of what the evovling popular contemporary designs are, but will help you to excel in the industry.
